Rock Lea is one of a group of Grade II listed fisherman’s cottages in the heart of this old historical fishing village of Staithes.
Rock Lea Holiday Cottage
It is a thriving community with an Art Gallery, two pubs and some small shops including a fantastic butcher/general store and a gift shop. Renovated to a very good standard, Rock Lea has been awarded 4 star status by Visit England. It retains original features with pine and beamed ceilings, is warm and cosy and has been decorated and furnished to a high standard. There are two multi-fuel stoves and central heating is provided by electric heating but all covered in the booking cost.
Access to the various floors are through narrow cottage stairs that are not well suited to elderly people or those with limited mobility.
Cellar
Used for storage of coal and ecologs as well as heat store for central heating but can be used to store bicycle etc
Ground Floor
Kitchen/dining room: With multi-fuel stove, electric oven, ceramic hob, microwave, cutlery and plates, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washer/dryer and music centre. Wifi is available from here and throughout the house, there is also a payphone as mobile reception in the village can be very poor
First Floor
Living room: With multi-fuel stove, 32" TV, DVD and music system.
Shower room: With shower cubicle, toilet and heated towel rail.
Second Floor
Bedroom 1: With double bed room.
Bathroom: With shower over bath, toilet and heated towel rail.
Third Floor
Bedroom 2: With double bed room.
Bedroom 3: With single bed and pull-out bed, ideal for children
Pets
Two well behaved dogs are welcome but there is no private outside area as the cottage fronts onto the coble road and footpath.
Facilities
Electric thermal store radiator heating, electricity, bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and fuel for multi-fuel stoves included All cutlery and cups and plates etc. Payphone is installed if needed.
Parking
A parking permit for 1 car is included on loan for your duration.
Please note: Guest should note that whilst Staithes is a charming coastal village, with steep paths and cliff top views, it is not suitable for people with limited mobility. Rock Lea similarly is not suitable for people with limited mobility, Some car parking is available outside the cottage for unloading only but this is only for 40minute period
